How the pandemic affected my photography business and how to get my service for cheap

Ineffective lockdowns, increasing daily cases, and the inability to go out result in no business for photographers

Imagine this -you are getting serious about your business, registered it under SSM, ready to start improving your craft and take photos of your subjects. Then all of a sudden, Covid-19 happened. One lockdown after another, you see countless clients cancelling their photoshoots with the cases not lowering down. That's what happened to me.

I can't imagine the number of times I've sighed because of how disappointed I am in this situation. To give you an example, I had a good friend of mine wanting to hire me to do an interview video shoot. After shuffling around the internet to find a studio, arranging the materials and equipment to get it started, the unfortunate news of the 3rd MCO happened.

Having to grit my teeth and face the situation, I have turned to design logos, banners, and other remote creative jobs for the time being. The jobs opportunity hasn't been abundant, but I am getting by, physically, but barely mentally.

On a personal note, although I plan to make this business a full-time job in the future. I still need to get a job to buy more equipment. I have been job hunting, done interviews, and even getting job offers! Too bad it wasn't to be because most of the offers got withdrawn.

I do realise some people have it worse than me, way worse. That's why I have been helping my mutuals around promoting and supporting their business. It's the least I can do. If you have a business and would like me to elevate your brand to the next level -for a fraction of the price, send me a message here (almost for free, just for the pandemic).

Ultimately, I am thankful that my family and I are still healthy. Taking care of them, although challenging at times, has been a learning experience. Everyone needs to take care of themselves first. You can't fill from an empty cup. So take a breather, reorganise, and keep going strong! We can do it 😃
